Okay, since traveling is one of my favorite things, and since I'm a kid in high school who can't travel wherever/whenever she wants, I've decided to share my travel bucket list. I'm one of the most ambitious people I know, so you can bet that before I die, I will have gone t to at least most of these places. No, they are not in order; I'm not that decisive. 1. Australia I have wanted to go to Australia since I first saw the Wiggles Live documentary when I was 4 years old. It's so different and diverse, and has so many different things to experience. I would definitely go to see Uluru, where I have also wanted to go ever since my dad showed me the Midnight Oil movie. I would also like to go to Sydney, it seems pretty cool too. 2. French Polynesia Okay, sure it's a honeymoon destination, but I would absolutely love to go to Bora Bora and Moorea on a solo trip. I have this ultimate fantasy of getting out of bed in my overwater bungalow and jumping off the deck into the crystal clear water. I have a thing for tropical destinations, so this is sort of a cliche. However, it is an amazing place, and I would rather go here than anywhere else tropical. 3. Kenya I have always been an animal lover. But seeing animals in the zoo depresses me; I want to see animals that are happy and in their natural environments. I would love to go on an african safari; it would be epic. I would also want to do some charity work here, maybe like a mission or something. 4. London Who doesn't want to go to London? Sure, it's not very glamourous with fabulous weather all the time. But rain is like one of my favorite things, so it would be an amazing trip for me. I want to walk the streets and go into all the shabby-chic bookstores and drink tea and eat pasteries. Yep, that sounds perfect. 5. New York City There aren't many places I'd rather be right now than NYC. I probably wouldn't do much there besides shopping and taking pictures. I would, however, make sure that I got a good loft-style hotel with a huge window. That would be my highlight: sitting on the bed, looking out the window at the city lights, watching Friends while eating takeout. I can't wait. 6. Nepal Okay, this is a kind of weird one. I'm from Alaska, so I'm not really into snow. And I know well enough how hard it is to get there. But there's something about those Himalayas that really interest me. They're so vast, and I just want to see them in person. It's fascinating to me, just one of those things. 7. Paris This is very cliche. But what's not to like about Paris? The food? Nope. The shopping? Yeah right. The sightseeing? Heck no. There is a reason why everyone wants to go here. And I'm no different. I'm not too interested in the Eiffel Tower, though, which is unusual. I'm more into the other things, like the shops and the food. 8. Bali I had to put in another tropical Island, what can I say? They're my thang. Anyway, I don't really have anything to say, other than it's a beautiful place with a lot of culture. It's sort of like Australia I guess, but way less urbanized. 9. Greece Here I go again with a European location. I've loved Greek mythology for a long time, and it's my inner history nerd that is picking this one. Ancient Greece was such an amazing place; how could anyone not want to go experience it? Athens, Thebes, Santorini, you name it. It's not one of the things that I'm picky about. 10. Rio De Janeiro This is a new one. I hardly even thought about Rio until the Olympics came this summer. That was when I decided: whoa, that place is cool. The beach looks awesome, as does the city itself. I heard it's very expensive to go there, so it probably won't be the first place I visit. But hopefully someday.

Okay, my blog update took way longer than expected. Plus I procrastinated quite a bit, but it's finally done. The website address will NOT change as I said in the previous post, it will remain redwoodsandraspberrybushes.weebly.com . I'm going to try to post some lifestyle-ish posts throughout the next few months since we aren't traveling at this time. The new blog format will take some getting used to for both me and you readers, so if you see anything amiss, please leave a message in the "contact" section of the website. I'll try to add some more content to the site as well, like some more pages and stuff like that. Also, if you have any requests or recommendations about a post or the blog itself, please don't hesitate to contact me, I love feedback!
